The Controlled Goods Program (Basic)
This course is designed for new employees and as a refresher to clerical staff on a yearly basis, or as a pre-requisite to the Controlled Goods Program advanced course, for Designated Officials and management team members.
Pre-requisite: none recommended
Testing and certification: a short quiz with a 75% passing mark, certification of completion provided to the student upon successful completion
Controlled Goods Program Basics – Module 1
This module will describe in general terms what exactly the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) is, who manages it and what are its goals. It will also introduce the student to the Designated Official (DO) and Authorized Individual (AI) as defined in the regulations, as well as their respective functions. The student will learn about their responsibilities, as well as his/her own.
Controlled Goods Program Basics – Module 2
In this module, the student will spend time recognizing the different types of controlled goods, whether tangible or intangible and understanding how some goods though military in nature, may not be controlled. There will also be an overview of what ITAR is and its meaning within the CGP.
