BIO 109 TDG – Transporting biomedical and infectious substances by ground
Transport of biological substances training is intended for staff transporting biological samples (taxi drivers, healthcare or hospital delivery service providers etc.).
This training is not suitable for staff collecting and preparing shipments such as nurses and lab technicians.

MODULE 1: Introduction and classification
This module will introduce the candidate the general requirements of the TDGR; his responsibilities; the classification of the different biological substances as well as the 8 steps to compliance allowing him/her to ensure the full compliance of the consignments he/she will be transporting.
MODULE 2: Packaging and labeling
After this module, the participant will be able to understand, inspect, and verify that the packages comply with the regulations and that the appropriate safety marks are properly affixed.
MODULE 3: Transport procedures
The participant will learn the transport procedures including the information required on a transport document (dangerous goods declaration), the placarding rules, stowage requirements; accidental release procedures as well as specific requirements under Quebec’s Road Safety Act.
